Kelly Osbourne career
2002-2005: The Osbourne and Shut Up
From 2002 through 2005, Kelly and the rest of her family (excluding Aimee) featured in the MTV reality show The Osbournes. The sitcom depicted their day-to-day lives as a dysfunctional household where metal music, profanity, and other roughness were commonplace. Kelly, the middle kid, was described as “a brilliantly witty, brutally honest, pint-size, potty-mouthed spitfire” by Rolling Stone.
It began when she was seventeen years old and ended when she was twenty years old. In 2002, she dated The Used lead singer Bert McCracken during the second season of The Osbournes. The show was shot in California, where her family had lived for decades. Kelly and the Osbournes were mocked in the Channel 4 comedy Bo’Selecta, in which Leigh Francis’ rubber-masked Kelly has her own show and is constantly censored for swearing with bleeps.
Following her presence on the reality show, fashion pundits such as Steven Cojocaru began to notice Osbourne’s diverse and trendy style. In 2004, he and her friend and former sponsor, Ali Barone, created her own fashion line, Stiletto Killers. Osbourne and Barone created the Stiletto Killers brand, which included cartoonish drawings and punk rock lyrics on tees, knickers, hoodies, and sweatpants. The SK Collection was a more sophisticated couture division. Stiletto Killers eventually shut down in April 2006.
2003-2005
Kelly’s debut album, Shut Up, was released in 2002 by Epic Records to mixed reviews in the United States, but strong reviews in Europe. The lead single, a version of Madonna’s “Papa Don’t Preach,” debuted at the 2002 MTV Film Awards with Houston rock band Pure Rubbish. The album garnered negative reviews and she was dismissed from Epic Records in May 2003 after it debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart.
By October, Osbourne had signed with Sanctuary and had recorded a duet with her father, “Changes” (a Black Sabbath song). Shut Up was reissued as Changes after it reached No. 1 in the UK charts. “Changes” was one of the few singles to drop from No. 1 to No. 3 while selling more copies than the week before.
With the “Chris Cox Club Remix” of “One Word,” Kelly became the first artist to top all three Billboard dance charts in the same week. Her second album, Sleeping in the Nothing, sparked controversy due to its substantially edited album cover, which made her appear thinner despite her previous statements that she was pleased with her weight.
Kelly made her acting debut on October 7, 2004, in the ABC high school adolescent drama Life as We Know It, in which she played Deborah Beatrice Tynan, a supporting part. On April 2, 2004, she admitted to her family that she was addicted to pills and enrolled at the Malibu recovery center Promises. Following a relapse more than a year later, she entered into Las Encinas Hospital, a drug treatment center in Pasadena, California. Kelly entered another drug treatment facility in 2009, stayed for a month, and then admitted to having a recurrence of her opioid addiction. After 30 days, she was freed, and she was cited as claiming that this was the first time she truly believed therapy had helped her.
Kelly Osbourne Interests
On April 1, 2010, Osbourne and her mother joined Cyndi Lauper in launching the Give a Damn campaign to raise awareness about prejudice against LGBT people as part of Lauper’s True Colors Fund. It was created to unite straight individuals with gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people in order to eradicate discrimination. Jason Mraz, Whoopi Goldberg, Elton John, Cynthia Nixon, Judith Light, Kim Kardashian, Anna Paquin, and Clay Aiken were among the campaign’s other stars.

She subsequently appeared in The Queen’s Handbag as Wendy from Peter Pan and lent her voice to the animated film Live Freaky Die Freaky in June. She co-hosted the show with Mark Durden-Smith in the London studio and Jeff Brazier in Australia. The 2002 MTV Film Awards, Top of the Pops Saturday, MTV’s Isle of MTV, and MTV UK were among Osbourne’s one-off appearances. Ireland’s red carpet coverage of the 2003 MTV Europe Music Awards, Popworld, The Sunday Night Project, the 2005 MTV Australia Video Music Awards, and Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show are among the highlights of the year.
In the spring of 2006, Kelly was one of the judges on Making Your Mind Up. She married her lover Matt Derham of the band Fields at the Electric Picnic event in Ireland in September 2006. Kelly’s counsel later denied that the ceremony was legitimate because it did not comply with Irish legal requirements; at the time, a couple could not marry in an outdoor setting in Ireland. Osbourne later dated promoter and tour manager Matt Walker. In February 2006, she was a guest judge on Sky 1’s Project Catwalk for Season One Episode Four. In 2007 and 2008, Osbourne presented Seasons Two and Three of Project Catwalk, respectively.

In autumn 2007, she signed a deal with BBC Radio 1 to host The Surgery, a Sunday night show that aired for the first time on October 7, 2007, and focused on the problem of self-harm. Osbourne was supposed to return to the show in early 2009, however due to her absence, the episode was hosted by Aled Haydn Jones of The Chris Moyles Show. Jones was later promoted to full-time host. Kelly appeared in photographer Ben Charles Edwards’ short musical film The Town that Boars Me in 2008. Jodie Harsh, Sadie Frost, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and Zandra Rhodes are among the cast members. It premiered at the Portobello Film Festival in late summer.
Kelly then played Jo, a character remarkably similar to herself, in an episode of Hotel Babylon, a British TV show that aired on BBC One in 2009. After reportedly slapping Daily Mirror columnist Zoe Griffin at a bar in August 2008, she was arrested for assault on January 19, 2009. This came after Griffin criticized Kell’s then-boyfriend Luke Worrall in a story. Worrall proposed to her in March 2009, but the couple split up in July 2010 after he began dating model Elle Schneider.
Kelly and her brother Jack then presented ITV2’s coverage of the National Television Awards, as well as Kelly Osbourne: Turning Japanese, a documentary about Japanese pop culture. In March 2009, she returned to television alongside the rest of the Osbourne family on Osbournes: Reloaded. Fierce, her debut autobiography, was released on September 1, 2009 by Virgin Books. It had autobiographical components as well as counsel and support during difficult times. In September 2009, Kelly began writing a weekly advice and celebrity gossip piece for the UK magazine Closer.
2009: Dancing with the Stars
On August 17, 2009, co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris unveiled the cast of the 2009 autumn season of Dancing with the Stars. Kelly was supposed to be one of the 16 celebrities competing. After a week, her professional partner was revealed: Dutch ballroom champion Louis van Amstel. The competition began on September 21, 2009, and lasted for ten weeks, including training and dancing. On November 17, 2009, the final three were announced: Osbourne, singer Mya, and musical star Donny Osmond. In the final, she and her partner came in third place.
2010-present: Fashion Police and other endeavors
In August 2010, Osbourne began filming her first major role in Hollywood, the comedy Should’ve Been Romeo. Nicole is portrayed by her as a fun-loving groupie. On April 28, 2012, the film was released in the United States. In December 2010, it was announced that she would star in So Undercover alongside Disney star Miley Cyrus, playing Cyrus’ sorority sister. Filming began in December 2010 and was completed on December 6, 2012. In 2010, she walked the runway for Naomi Campbell’s Fashion For Relief runway event for the White Ribbon Alliance to collect funds for Haitian mothers.
Kelly then worked as a fashion journalist for the cable network E!, hosting the series Fashion Police with Joan Rivers in 2011. In June 2011, she and Susie Castillo co-hosted the Miss USA competition at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. She left Fashion Police in February 2015 after receiving complaints regarding her co-statements host’s on the show. On October 28, 2015, it was announced that she would replace Dawn French as a judge on Channel Nine’s Australia’s Got Talent for its ninth season. She accompanied her father and brother on their broadcast worldwide tour, which was captured in the 2018 series Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour.
