Kesha began her professional career when she signed with the Kemosabe Records label at the age of eighteen (owned by Sony Music Entertainment). She signed with David Sonenberg’s management business, DAS Communications Inc., a year later, in 2006. In 2008, she starred in Katy Perry’s video for “I Kissed a Girl” and sang backup vocals for Britney Spears’ song “Lace and Leather.”
