Kesha began her professional career when she signed with the Kemosabe Records label at the age of eighteen (owned by Sony Music Entertainment). She signed with David Sonenberg’s management business, DAS Communications Inc., a year later, in 2006. In 2008, she starred in Katy Perry’s video for “I Kissed a Girl” and sang backup vocals for Britney Spears’ song “Lace and Leather.”

Her debut album, “Animal,” was released in 2010 after she signed a multi-album deal with RCA Records in 2009. “Tik Tok,” the album’s debut track, was released on August 7, 2009, and immediately became the second best-selling digital single in history.
