Linda Cohn made her radio debut in 1981 as a sports anchor for WALK-AM in Patchogue, New York (also WALK-FM). She spent four years at that station until leaving in 1984. She went on to work as a sports anchor for four additional radio stations in the New York region until 1987, including a brief time as an updated person at WFAN in New York City. In 1987, she was also able to make sportscasting history. Because when ABC recruited her, she became the first full-time female sports anchor on a national radio network in the United States.
She was able to anchor WABC TalkRadio from 1987 to 1989. In 1988, she was also hired by SportsChannel America, one of ESPN’s primary competitors at the time.
