  • McTavish was selected third overall by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. He signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Ducks on August 13, 2021. He was unexpectedly added to the team’s roster just hours before the season opener against the Winnipeg Jets. Initially, he was not expected to take part.
  • McTavish made his NHL debut, scoring his first goal of the season and adding an assist in a 4-1 victory. At the age of 18 years and 256 days, he surpassed Oleg Tverdovsky to become the Ducks’ youngest goal scorer.
  • McTavish appeared in three games before being forced out due to a lower-body injury.
  • On October 28, he was assigned to the San Diego Gulls, the Ducks’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.
