Matthew is an Ottawa transplant who appreciates the city’s diversity. He attended St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia before enrolling at Toronto’s College of Sports Media after growing up in Thunder Bay. He was able to secure his first broadcasting position in his hometown thanks to his expertise at Thunder Bay Television.

Professional Development

After two years of anchoring, reporting, and enjoying the cushy life of living at home, Matt was recruited as CTV Ottawa’s weekend weather anchor in 2013. He’s done a little bit of everything since then, including anchoring CTV News at Six on weekends, presenting a weekend radio show on CFRA, and cheering on the REDBLACKS in their inaugural season. During the week, he may be found at the CTV News desk between 5:00 and 11:30 a.m.

Matt has always been fascinated with culture.
