In 1970, he made his first-team debut after joining the Eclair Club of Douala’s youth system. In the 1990 World Cup quarterfinals, Gary Linekar and the English national team defeated his team.

In 1977, Roger was enticed to Europe by the French team Valenciennes. Milla joined AS Monaco in 1979 and scored twice in 17 league games that year. He joined Bastia in 1980 and scored 35 goals in 113 league games for the first team.

Following that, in 1984, he moved to Saint-Etienne, where he scored 31 goals in 59 league appearances. After retiring from French football, he joined the club’s coaching staff. When Roger was 36 years old, he retired from international football and was honored with a jubilee in Cameroon.
